Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Skitash (talk) 12:50, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kurdish Romanization

[edit]

The Kurdish Romanization Kampanyayê Enfalê does not match the Kurdish-language شاڵاوی ئەنفال (Shallawi Enfal). Please consider making this modification. Darer101 (talk) 15:23, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to Anfal Genocide

[edit]

The fact this is labelled as a "counterinsurgency operation" whitewashes the entire thing, and should really be fixed. CertifiedKurd (talk) 09:44, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For this request to succeed you need to show that the preponderance of reliable sources use the term "genocide" to refer to this event. Genocide is a very charged word, and must be well sourced if to be part of the title. 331dot (talk) 09:46, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article itself lists genocide as the primary "attack type" of the Anfal Genocide - it only makes sense to rename it to match that. A primary goal of the entire camapaign was to ethnically cleanse the Kerkuk region. Human Rights Watch has described it as a genocide, horrific attacks like the Halabja Massacre took place as a part of it, and Iraq's cabinet showed genocidal intent as well.
"You must leave right now. Because I cannot tell you the same day that I am going to attack with chemical weapons. I will kill them all with chemical weapons! Who is going to say anything?"
"[I promise] not to leave alive anyone who speaks the Kurdish language."
