Party or political-party? Plus inline references.
[edit]This article has some problems.
To begin with. I did not piece together that a CryptoParty is not a political party (until after extensive reading off Wikipedia). It's a literal party. Well of some kind. It's apparently a gathering that takes place in any case. That said I am not 100% convinced that the idea isn't to aspire to political parties. Therefore unilaterally rewriting things is more responsibility as an low information anonymous editor than I can accept.
Another problem if anyone does do a rewrite. The references are all inline. Or they seem to be. This makes editing the source a minefield. --184.21.215.174 (talk) 06:14, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, it is kind of confusing. It is a party as in people gathering to learn about cryptography, NOT a political party. I don't know if it is still in existence anymore, or was just a 2000s to 2010s activity, or maybe it has become more secretive. I haven't seen any references to it in about 10 years, and the page on Wiki gets very little traffic. By the way, inline references are perceived as desirable and even necessary on English (and most other) Wikipedias. Editors are accustomed to the minefield, as you (accurately) describe.--FeralOink (talk) 05:44, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
