Q1: Why has the name not been changed to Mount McKinley?
A1: Consensus has been established that Denali is more appropriate. Wikipedia does not automatically adopt the official name of a place.
Q2: Why was the name changed immediately after the Obama administration announced a name change?
A2: There was no consensus against the move at the time. Some users argue that the move reflected an end to a long-standing naming dispute.
Q3: Can I start a new discussion for a name change?
A3: Only if you believe circumstances are fundamentally different from the last time the name was discussed (9 April 2025). You should present evidence of the major change in circumstances in your move request. There is a moratorium on all discussions involving the name until 1 November 2025.
