[edit]The Royal Society of Medicine may not encourage its fellows to use the post-nominal letters FRSM, as it is primarily a social and academic CLUB for members of the medical profession, who can obtain fellowship by asking for it and paying the subscription: it is not an academic qualification. Some other people are also admitted. However, many DO use these postnominals. Some of them are writers of popular medical works who have no other fellowship to put after their name.
