Misc comments
[edit]3/2/5 I came here thinking it might be appropriate to link "hoof" or "hooves" from the "farrier" entry. I am of the opinion that a redirect to "claw" isn't really appropriate.
I am considering developing content for a "hoof" entry in support of "farrier" and some other, related entries. Any thoughts or comments welcome. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erraunt (talk • contribs) 21:54, 2 March 2005
- 24/11/06 Yes an article on hoof is definately required. Claw is not remotely linked to a hoof —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tad102 (talk • contribs) 20:20, 24 November 2006
- Altho the (now accompanying) additional article is essential, claw is actually closely related to hoof: they are homologous to each other, and to nails, as should be mentioned in this article.

- I don't se mentioned the evolution of the hoof- at all — Preceding unsigned comment added by 40.140.201.66 (talk) 21:23, 25 August 2018 (UTC)
This article does not contain enough content to merit it its own article. The Amazing Matt (talk) 14:49, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- Comment. Not only does horse hoof have an article of its own, but also note that a special property of cows that is not shared by horses is that they are even-toed ungulates. The properties of cow hooves are shared by even-toed ungulates, which include many animal species. Horses are odd-toed ungulates. Horse hooves are different for this very reason. Perhaps cow hoof can be merged into even-toed ungulate. Georgia guy (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2019 (UTC)
- Support merge as initially proposed; Cow hoof focusses on the nature and care of hooves, which fits more appropriately with Hoof rather than even-toed ungulates. Klbrain (talk) 13:50, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 08:49, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
