"65% intolerance" claim and retracted articles as sources
[edit]The Lancet source for the 65% claim has been retracted. And it seems like a rather dubious claim to me anyway: I live in Japan and here milk and cheese appears to be as widely consumed as it is in Canada or the U.K. There ought to be at least some discussion of that. - I deleted the references to the retracted Lancet article. This will now likely mean that some claims are unreferenced. Other editors may wish to flag these, add references, or alter the text to reflect better referenced claims. Jaredroach (talk) 15:20, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
Article constantly overestimates lactose intolerance
[edit]The article puts way too much on genetic indicators of lactose intolerance instead of actual measured intolerance. Genetic testing is not effective for LM. For example this article cites 95% intolerance in Japan when the most cited stat is 19% self reported, the highest number I've seen is 45% measured in a small study with breath tests. I'm not sure where I would start with editing this article because the entire epidemiology is incorrect. 75.172.122.19 (talk) 17:56, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
