Replaced redirect?
[edit]This page replaced a redirect to Preposition and postposition, which isn't a terribly useful redirect, I don't think. I'll leave it for now, but does anyone else have an opinion? The same user replaced the Firewire redirect with content that I moved to Firewire (Lateef the Truthspeaker album), since that is a more prominent and directly related redirect.

- It was a partly-correct, partly-helpful (for English learners) redirect; needs disambiguation. 'Thru' is an older standard/non-slang spelling of 'through'; popular into 1900s, still-used: I know people who grew up with it. Both OXford English Dictionary (OED, official/standard English), USA's Merriam-Webster Dictionary (MWD, #1 there in addition to OED's more words) list 'thru'. In USA, it was suggested to become standard, and is still-used in technical journals, and in UK is described as used more (not exclusively) informally. Quite a few words are in this Wikipedia situation. I forgot if Wikipedia Library has OED, but if not, there's a special way to view a few/one word(s) on OED's website without login, in time limit, and MWD's site is generally/all free for basic definitions. 'Through' has at least 12 OED entries, including ones classified as a, adv, n, prep, v, so needs clarifying if alternative for more definitions (such as 'a sheet (of paper)', 'thorough', 'throw', 'trough') than past redirect (maybe link Wiktionary?)--dchmelik☀️🦉🐝🐍(talk|contrib) 08:31, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
