Purpose
[edit]Provides a uniform method of formatting arXiv links, and makes it simpler to update if the format of those links changes in future.
Usage
[edit]This template can be used in the following ways:
- {{arXiv|0123456}}
The parameters have the following meaning:
|1=specifies the ID of the particular entry|class=specifies the arXiv classification, e.g. hep-th. Optional. To be used only with new-style (2007 and later) eprint identifiers that do not include the classification.

Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2 templates include a |arxiv= parameter with the same function.
