Template:MileSplit/doc

The MileSplit template is designed to give standardised external links to athlete biographies on the MileSplit statistics website. It is intended for use in the external links section of an article.

Usage

The template has two input fields:

{{MileSplit|id=ID|name=NAME}}

{{MileSplit|ID|NAME}}

• The id parameter (or unnamed parameter 1) should contain the number found in the target athlete biography URL. It is optional if Wikidata property P9508 exists, but required if not. Omit the ID to use the Wikidata property.
• The name parameter (or unnamed parameter 2) is optional and changes the output text for the athlete's name. This defaults to the article name (minus any disambiguation handles in parentheses).

The final numbers in the URL are the id. So to add this link to the article we would include the following text in the External links section:

This will appear in the article as below:

• Grant Fisher at MileSplit

Unnamed parameters

The profile for Trevante Rhodes is:

https://www.milesplit.com/athletes/60653 (redirect to URL below)

https://tx.milesplit.com/athletes/60653-trevante-rhodes

The final numbers in the URL are the id. So to add this link to the article we would include the following text in the External links section:
