Tinies Childcare is a British childcare company operating across the United Kingdom.[1] Tinies focuses on childcare recruitment operating 30 childcare and nanny agencies in the UK.[2] It has been part of US based Bright Horizons since 2019.

Tinies specialises in the recruitment of nannies and nursery staff, and the provision of fixed and mobile crèches.[3] The company manages a chain of 25+ fixed creches and junior/kids club programmes on behalf of fitness chains and companies. Tinies also runs the overseas child care recruitment schemes for the UK holiday company Thomson Holidays.

History

[edit]

The company was founded in 1975, by Janet Trethewy Tinies as a nanny agency with 5 branches.

It was acquired by brothers Ben and Oliver Black in March 2000.[4] In August of that year they were joined by Amanda Coxen.[5]

In 2007 Tinies secured its first government Sure Start contract.[6] Tinies went on to manage the holiday playschemes for over 32 government departments.

Ben Black went on to found a web-based emergency childcare service, which went on to become the award-winning family friendly employee benefits company My Family Care (who also own Nannyshare.co.uk).[7][8]

In 2019, the company was acquired by US based childcare provider Bright Horizons.[9] The sale did not include Tinies five nurseries and mobile crèches.
