Tumbledry is an Indian e-commerce company that provides dry cleaning and laundry services. Founded in 2019,[1] it has over 1,200 stores across more than 500 locations as of 2025.[2]
History
[edit]Tumbledry was established in 2019 by Gaurav Nigam and Navin Chawla.[3] Gaurav Teotia, Tarun Arora, and Anuj Gupta later joined as co-founders.[4] The company launched its first outlet in Noida in 2019.[4]
Services
[edit]Tumbledry offers dry cleaning, laundry, shoe cleaning, carpet cleaning, and curtain cleaning services. The company utilizes eco-friendly chemicals and Woolmark-certified machines.[2] Customers can access their services through a mobile application or the company website.[5][6]
Business model
[edit]Tumbledry operates under a Franchise Owned Franchise Operated (FOFO) model in combination with Company Owned Company Operated (COCO) model.[7][8] Franchisees manage individual outlets with operational support provided by the company, covering aspects such as location selection, training, and standard operating procedures.[9][10]
Future plans
[edit]The company plans to expand its number of stores to 2,000 by 2026,[11][12] with a focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.[13] It operates more than 450 stores in smaller towns in India and has indicated plans to enter international markets.[11]
Recognition
[edit]In 2022, Tumbledry received the PTC Award of Excellence in Entrepreneurship from CINET, an international association for the textile care industry.[14] CINET also placed Tumbledry as the leading laundry brand in India and fifth globally[15] in the Retail Textile Cleaning (RTC-BIG) category.[16]
Funding
[edit]Tumbledry was launched with an initial investment by its founders. The company has not raised external funding or secured loans.[6]
