Da Coalition

Members of Da Coalition include, Archie Kennedy aka AK, James Parnell ka S.T.L, Dominic Arnold aka Renagade, Dominic Harris aka Treboy, William Baker aka Puff aka P-Dot, Duce aka 2 Hammer, Eric Moore, and Randy Everett aka Tecc.

The Beginning

Starting in 2004 "Da Coalition" is a up incoming rap group based in Norfolk, Va. Members of the group are AK, Renegrade, S.T.L, Tecc, Puff aka P.Dot, Duce aka 2 Hammers, and Eric Moore. They have been createing a buzz in the city since joining together in 2004. Many of the member were at one time former leaders of other groups or already in groups. All member are currently under 20 making this group one if not the youngest group to be offer a record contract. Some of the members are still in school(Puff, Duce). In album was never release in 2003 or 2004 because of several conflicts with other local groups. At one time or another they have beef with DNA, Blackouts, Black Dungeon, Hit Squad, Dog Pound Gang, Twin Towers, Cold War, Red Label, Cap P, Ivory, and Dead End. Many of thse beefs was becuase of the popularilty. As Ak stated one time "Its like a chess game in VA everybodys mission in Norfolk is to knock off the king(s).

The Death of S.T.L

On March 21, 2005 after departing from the school bus AK, STL, Tecc, and Big T were engage in a fight with a local resident name Neal Williams. He and STL started fighting in not surprisingly to everybody STL got the best of him. After the fight was over Neal with his brother Wilford followed STL, Tecc, and Big T home. After another fight with STL Neal grab a 357 from the car in begin firing. STL was stuck first even after Neal missed the first shot. Tecc and Big T were shot at, but came out unharmed. After it took 10 to 15 mins before a EMT got out their he was pronouce dead on his way to the ER. A funeral was held that week at Lake Taylor High School the school he attend. In was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetary. On Aug 2006 Neal Williams was giving 23 years for the murder of STL. He will only be up for parole after he serve 20 years.

The First Album and Break Up

In 2005 the first album the group ever made was complete. Title "Speculation" it was at the time highly anticpated. All of the Coalition was on the album which consisted of 10 tracks. While the album was preparing for release a conflict started with Renagade and AK. The group thought that after the album was finish AK was spending to much time wit his girlfriend at the time. After a heated exchange that almost came to AK shooting Renagade and as Renagade puts it "beating the shit outta AK" the group split. However this split was not a bad thing for either side. As AK received two album deals, eventualy signing to 420 Records. As the rest of the group changed their name to DIDR(Diamonds In Da Ruff)signed with ULE Ent. Both had a numerous success which made labels want them even more.

The Reunion

After not recording with each other in almost 2 months the group invited AK to a studio session. Not knowing, to AK, the group was in a heated lyrics battle with local rapper Ivory. He tag alone though as he dissed Ivory on the track 500 Shots. 500 Shots also feat AK,Tecc, Soldier Boy, and Puff. On the track you can hear Puff stating that "We back Coalition is Reunited". Making a buzz that the group was getting back together. This also made a lot of people mad, because knowing how wild they were before going to be crazy this time.

The Second Album

After numerous studio sessions together the group finally sent word that they were finally getting back together. The next album according to AK will be entitled "The Return of The Coalition" they are looking for deal to promoted and distrbuted the album.
