KAGITINGAN CADET CORPS, SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL COLLEGE

CORPS OF CADETS ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Cadet Corps shall be designated as the Corps of Cadets of Saint Vincent De Paul College (CCSVDPC). It shall be organized as the Commandant of Cadets may prescribed. Each cadet, regardless of class and grade, shall be assigned to a platoon for administration. For the purpose of training, the Corps of Cadets will be commanded by Cadet Officers, under the control and supervision of the Commandant of Cadets.

KAGITINGAN CORPS OF CADETS

The Kagitingan Corps of Cadets is the cadet organization of Saint Vincent De Paul College. They form a Corps of Cadets that is solid and united in embracing a high level of ideals and standards.

There are 4 distinct classes of cadets. The fourthclass (Basic Cadets), the thirdclass (Officer Candidate), the secondclass (Junior Officers) and the firstclass (Senior Officers).

FOURTHCLASS CADETS

The new cadets are officially known as Fourthclassmen, but commonly known as the Basic Cadets. They are the Corps equivalent to senior high school students. As a Basic Cadet, they are subjected to certain customs designated primarily to fit them into the Corps of Cadets. Their entry to the Corps is known as the Reception Day. This short ceremony has a dual purpose, to give them a feel of what is instore for them during their cadethood and to swear them as regular members of the Corps.

THIRDCLASS CADETS

The new cadets are officially designated as the Cadet Officer Candidate, also known as the Plebes. The plebes appear to be the most misunderstood among the cadets. They are misconstrued, more often than not, the recipient of the worst treatment from the officers. Nothing of course, is farther from the truth. They should, on the contrary, be envied for they are subjected to a system that is aimed at transforming them from cadets into officers and gentlemen. Virtually, by undergoing plebehood, a cadet is transformed into an officer whose standards and ideals measure up to those of the Corps.

SECONDCLASS CADETS

The Secondclass Cadets are the Junior Officers. They are responsible for personifying the ideal cadet along the the precepts of being a leader by example, or known as exemplar of the Corps. Fresh from being plebe themselves, they are put in charge of these new Thirdclassmen immediately. A Secondclass Cadet is personally responsible for a plebe. The responsibility of training and molding the plebe are placed on the shoulders of Secondclassmen.

FIRSTCLASS CADETS

The Firstclass Cadets are the Senior Officers and usually called the Immaculates. Being the Firstclassmen they weild authority over the lower classes. On their uniform are embroidered the numerous ranks and insignias to signify their high position in the Corps. Firstclass Cadets is synonymous with more responsibilities. On the shoulders of the Immaculates are placed the burdens of leading the Corps. On them also lie the task of formulating policies for the improvement of the Corps.
