Lily Marie Antonini, also known professionally as Lil-E, STAR 🌟, and Lil-3, is an American bilingual Singer-Songwriter, Producer, Composer, and Performer.[1] She is recognized for her genre-blending musical style, vibrant visual aesthetics, and unique creative process influenced by Synesthesia.[2]

Early life and education

[edit]

Antonini was born in Paradise Valley, Arizona, United States.[3] She is of Mexican and Italian descent.[4] She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a double major in Vocal Performance and Songwriting.[5] During her time at Berklee, she created and hosted QTV, a parody series inspired by MTV during the 2020 Quarantine period.[6]

Career

[edit]

Antonini debuted with four full-length albums on February 14, 2019, released simultaneously: Love Polar, Time for Adventure, Miracles, and Gravitational Pull, each containing 12 tracks, totaling 48 songs.[7] Since then, her discography has expanded to over 20 albums, more than five EPs, and numerous singles spanning genres such as Pop, Dance, Latin, Jazz, Religious, Funk, Odd Meter, A Cappella, R&B, Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, EDM, Disco, and more, totaling over 230 original works.[8]

Antonini has performed across the United States, including a notable show at the Berklee Performance Center, where she was the first Synesthetic, bilingual artist to independently perform all original compositions.[9] The 2.5-hour concert featured 18 original songs in English and Spanish, accompanied by a 50-plus member ensemble of Musicians and Dancers, and was attended by approximately 1,250 people.[10][11]

Multimedia projects

[edit]

Antonini has created and hosted several original video series:

  • The Lil-E Show – A variety show featuring guest artists, performances, comedic segments, and characters such as Liliana, a parody weather presenter.[12]
  • Lil-E Talks (Because Who the Heck Is Ted?) – A humorous, character-driven interview series featuring some of her alter egos.[13]

Synesthesia and creative process

[edit]

Antonini experiences over 28 forms of Synesthesia, including perceiving music and letters in color, tasting sounds and colors, and physically feeling music.[14] She integrates this sensory perception into her performances by aligning lighting and visuals with the colors and emotions she associates with each song, offering audiences an immersive sensory experience.[15]

Fashion and visual aesthetics

[edit]

Known for her dynamic fashion sense, Antonini frequently changes her rainbow-colored hair and incorporates a signature gold microphone, glitter, bold, eye-catching color palettes, and thematic outfits into her performances and music videos.[16][17]

Teaching and mentorship

[edit]

Antonini has served as a music professor, teaching singing, piano, music production, and songwriting.[18] Her teaching experience includes roles at institutions such as Harvard University and Berklee College of Music.

[edit]

Antonini’s work has been featured on billboards in Times Square[19] and included in various Spotifyplaylists.[20] Her music has also played in Harkins Theatres during the Phoenix Film Festival.[21][22]
