Mr. Veasna Chhay is a deputy chief of Translation Office in the Protocol Department of the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia. He has started his work in the Secretariat-General since 2012.

Currently, he has been appointed as a secretary of the Cabinet of Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia. He has a range of responsibilities including writing correspondent letters, translating articles for SG, writing news in English for Samdech, and making reports for courtesy calls.

Prior to returning to be a full time official, Mr. Veasna used to be a head of Research and development office in Svay Rieng University. He started his provincial work in 2007 and completely resigned in 2023. However, he still serves himself as a contractual lecturer in some universities such as the Royal University of Law and Economics, Phnom Penh International University, and National university of Kamchaymear. He has taught tertiary students in business and Economics, Public Administration, and Educational fields.

Mr. Veasna graduated Master of Education Studies from the University of Canberra, Australia, in 2014. He also received another Master Degree in educational science from the Phnom Penh International University and Bachelor of Education (TEFL) from the Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2009 and 2005, respectively.

Mr. Veasna became a civil servant in 2004 as a teacher in Preah Sisowath high School as a result of top scorer from the Regional Teacher Training Centre. After two years in service, he moved to work in Svay Rieng University, where he spent over fifteen years, after graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL). Simultaneously, he has worked in the Secretariat-General of the National Assembly, and started regularly since after COVID-19 pandemic.
