AI-generated content is becoming a problem on Wikipedia, as more people are using LLMs every day. Because AI applications aren't designed for writing encyclopedia articles, they don't usually do a good job or conform to the standards we expect of articles on Wikipedia. As a result, the format of these articles are typically beyond broken to a level that they cannot be fixed. It also goes against our core aim of giving free access to the sum of human knowledge, because AI knowledge is not human knowledge. While AI-generated content should be strongly discouraged, it is impossible to know content is definitely made by AI and therefore, it is impossible to ban it entirely.
- Interesting (not necessarily useful) point: Baby shower has been unanimously agreed upon as an AI-generated article at RfD, ChatGPT interestingly does not agree.
