I am JustTryingToBeSmart. I first created my Wikipedia account when I saw various grammar issues on articles across Wikipedia—mostly related to hip-hop music. I am most commonly editing music related articles as music is my favorite topic, but I also edit articles about sports (namely Basketball), schools, and various other topics—mostly pages that I noticed grammar issues on, or formatting issues. I am a U.S. citizen, being born and raised in Columbia, Tennessee. I am in school, so I may not respond to messages left on my talk page in a timely manner—however, if you need help or are unsure about an edit made on a page, feel free to ask me!
Early life
[edit]My nickname "JustTryingToBeSmart" I thought of one day when I was bored and couldn't seem to think clearly, making me think that I was 'Just Trying To Be Smart.' I was highly interested in writing essays and documents about various incomplete topics or subjects missing major amounts of information and/or knowledge. I also was primarily interested in English and Writing classes when I was younger, which would propel me to edit websites of the Wikimedia Foundation—most notably Wikipedia and WikiVoyage. My parents both enjoyed music from artists Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and Micheal Jackson, however, when solely, my mother often listened to hip-hop artists such as 2Pac, Lil Wayne, and The Notorious B.I.G while around me. My father was a fan of soft-rock and classical country artists such as Bob Seger, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Johnny Cash; among others.
Wikipedia career
[edit]I first created my Wikipedia account on July 20, 2024, after learning more about Wikipedia and becoming interested in editing articles related to Hip-hop music and Basketball. As well as country music which I most predominantly edit currently, and some lesser-known pages containing info about the military. I additionally try to fix various grammar issues on pages that I read, thus tying into my role as a WikiJanitor. My first edit was also on July 20, 2024, the day that I created my account for Wikipedia. The article that I edited was Roddy Ricch, I "Improved Grammar on [the] 2024 section of [the] article under [the] Career [section]".
