Oh, didn't see you come in. Welcome to my user page!

I am a lifelong Wisconsinite, an architect by trade, and a fan of all things Wisconsin sports. I've been an active editor since October 2024, and a keen interest in the history of Wisconsin high school athletics was my gateway into creating content for the site. After seeing the level of documentation for the high school athletic histories for other states (especially Indiana), I was inspired to make the history of Wisconsin high school athletics as complete and as thorough as I can make it. I've either created new articles or edited existing ones for over 130 high school athletic conferences in Wisconsin, along with creating articles for two organizations that existed prior to merging with the WIAA (the WCIAA and WISAA).

Ultimately, I would love to see somebody inspired by this project as I was to create it; to see what I worked on for Wisconsin and want that for their home state. Whether or not you're that person, I'm happy to assist you in your journey

Current research priorities (as of 21 May 2025)

[edit]
  • Conference histories for northwestern Wisconsin: There seems to be a donut hole of documentation for some of the northwestern counties of Wisconsin, and it's the region I've found the least information for. Fellow Wisconsin sports history enthusiast Badgeractuary has been an enormous help with figuring out the histories of some of the conferences that I have been able to successfully document, but there is still more to be done here.
  • Documentation of football-only conferences: My research has been basketball-focused for the most part, as it is usually a good indicator of all-sport membership in a conference. However, some smaller conferences did not sponsor football and some sponsored 6-man or 8-man football, especially in the first half of the 20th century. I would like to document these alongside their all-sport counterparts, and have started to do so with the Southern Dairyland Conference in south central Wisconsin.
  • Articles for out-of-state conferences with Wisconsin schools: Over the course of Wisconsin's high school athletic history, there have been a few schools to play in out-of-state conferences, mostly in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Gogebic Range, Menominee Range, Porcupine Mountain and Skyline) but also some in Illinois (SHARK) and Minnesota. So far, I've done articles for two Twin Ports area conferences (Head of the Lakes and Lake Superior) and one in the Upper Peninsula (Little Seven). I've also started a history narrative for the Menominee Range but have not been able to confirm a start date. I haven't been able to find a ton of information on the Gogebic Range (of which Hurley were members from 1980-1986 according to their record book) or the Porcupine Mountain (Mercer were members from 1965-1968 prior to joining the Indianhead), so any help would be appreciated.
