Hello, I'm PMDarjeeling.

I'm a retired science journalist and university lecturer in biology living in California. My particular interests include ecology and evolution, cell and molecular biology, and (more casually) world history. I'm also an avid cyclist, marginal windsurfer, amateur woodworker, and occasional birdwatcher. And of course I enjoy a good cup of afternoon tea.

I'm here to help maintain Wikipedia as the remarkably helpful resource it now is, and I look forward to learning how to edit well.
