It is common to model the world, collections of countries, individual countries, regions, and sectors of the economy - often with specific emphasis on the social impacts of various policies and economic constraints. In economic modeling, there are a number of techniques in use, including

• Global dynamic CGE models for global trade policy analysis
• Collaborative economic simulations
• Global macroeconomic forecasting model and simulations
