The Channel Islands football team is a combined representative team of Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark and Herm in international football. As it is not a member of UEFA or FIFA, it cannot compete in the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship.
History
[edit]The Channel Islands football team was founded in 2025 following inspiration from the inaugural Channel Islands rugby team that debuted in Guernsey with a win over World Rugby members Sweden showing the potential of inter-island cooperation in the region. The team was created to debut in 2026, hosting a 4-team tournament against 3 invited non-FIFA teams, targetting those that participate in the Island Games or Europeada, with the intention to expand the tournament to involve FIFA members in 2028.
