Apparent death

Why you have chosen this article to evaluate?

[edit]

I chose this article because I thought it was an interesting topic associated with the fight, flight, or freeze response. The article is very important because it discusses an important topic, this is a topic that effects lots of living things (as explored in the article) so it is necessary to study. I believe the article did a very good job of getting the information across through use of examples and images.~~~~

Evaluate the article

[edit]

The article “Apparent Death” has a lot of information on various animals. The information on this page is unbiased and is also mostly backed up with references including numerous articles from scientific journals. However, there is still some information from unreliable sources, for example, when mentioning how humans survive bear attacks. The article gives a lot of information on the topic but is ambiguous regarding whether this behaviour is a choice or unintentional. It also presents more info on some species than others like sharks and ducks respectively. Although, the article does give different reasons for this behaviour including its linkages to mating and evasion of threats. There are many photos that are relevant to the topic and it also has a lot of redirects to other articles. The article seems to have a partly active talk page. Overall, the article provides lots of relevant information that is presented in a clear way, and even though it has some errors, seems to be overall well-managed. ~~~~
