Rezaul Karim was born in a small hamlet in the District of Birbhum on 20th June 1965. He completed his education in a village school and moved to Maulana Azad College for higher education. After completing higher secondary in science he joined R G Kar Medical College for MBBS study in 1981. He did a post-graduate in Radiology in 1999-2002 from the University College of Medicine (now merged with IPGMER, Kolkata) and joined Medical Education Service. He resigned from government service†[1] and joined the All India Trinamool Congress<refhttps://www.anandabazar.com/west-bengal/rezaul-karim-joined-tmc-1.1203983></ref>. AITC lodged him in assembly election 2021 from Bhangore AC. He was defeated in the election by ISF. Before that he along with a few doctors founded West Bengal Doctors Forum
