Who?
[edit]I'm Steve Lim, a lifelong logophile. The habit began at eight when one day in school, instead of listening to the teacher, I made words out of the letters in my name. As I grew up, my vocabulary expanded and I began making phrases and sentences, progressing to anagrams. I do not remember when it was I made 'The Slim Pen' from my name (with first name unabbreviated, Stephen Lim). That remained my favorite anagram until I married Melanie Smith and coaxed the perfectly appropriate 'The name is Lim' out of her name. I took a little liberty and invented the term "spwn" (pronounced "spawn") to mean the anagram made from some source sentence, phrase, word, or name. The letters of spwn are the acronym formed from those four source types. It goes without saying but I will say it anyway that for an anagram to be good, it must bear a related semantic to the spwn. I have to add the disclaimer that no computers were used whenever I make a good anagram such as some recent ones: for a friend, Kate Milligan, the sobriquet 'Talking email', and for another, politically aware, friend, Wendi Gephart, the exhortation 'Get hip! End War!', and yet another friend, Gabriel Goodwin, a habitual lottery card scratcher, the exclamation 'God! I won real big!' and Gabe's sexy girlfriend, Laura Babaki, 'aka labia rub'.
I am now retired after thirty years in the high-tech industry and live in the central coast of California. I love soccer having played it regularly when young. Nowadays I follow the fortunes of my favorite club, Manchester United, in the English Premier League.
