Ponnusamy Karthik (born 13 June 1993) is an Indian entrepreneur, civil engineer, and philanthropist. He is the founder and chairman of the Namma Family Group, a conglomerate active in real estate, import–export, agribusiness, and social development initiatives across South India.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Karthik was born in Malaiyarasankuppam, Tamil Nadu. He completed his schooling at Dr. Lemire School of Excellence, followed by a diploma in engineering from Vignesh Polytechnic College. He later earned a civil engineering degree from Anna University.[2]
Career
[edit]In 2016, Karthik founded Namma Family Builder & Developer, which became a private limited company in 2020. As of 2024, the company has completed over 1,000 real estate projects covering more than 15 million sq. ft. and operates in Chennai, ECR, OMR, Coimbatore, and regions of Kerala and Karnataka.[3]
In 2019, Karthik expanded into agribusiness, focusing on tender coconut exports across 1,800–2,500 acres of farmland. The operation exports to the UAE, USA, Saudi Arabia, and other international markets.[4]
Philanthropy
[edit]Karthik founded the Seyal Trust, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to hunger relief, education access, and disaster support. It operates under the motto "No Pasi No Anathai" (No Hunger, No Orphans). The trust has organized food drives, blood donation camps, scholarships, and village sports initiatives.[5]
