Syed Mosharaf Hossain is an Indian educator, electronics engineer, and innovator, currently serving as the Principal of Purbasthali II Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in West Bengal. He is widely recognized for developing an innovative smart shoe safety device for women, which earned him national and international accolades.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Syed Mosharaf Hossain was born in Durgapur, West Bengal. He pursued a Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, followed by a B.Tech and M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.
Career
[edit]Hossain began his professional journey as a skill trainer in electronics, computer hardware, and mobile repairing at Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity. He later joined Purbasthali II Government ITI, where he currently serves as Principal. In this role, he has introduced several initiatives:
- Digital classrooms
- Use of Metaverse technology in education
- Personality development classes
- Public Distribution System (PDS) awareness classes
Innovations and Recognition
[edit]Hossain is known for developing an Arduino-based Smart Shoe System for women's safety, featuring:
