United States

[edit]

There is a reason why the U.S. calls it "soccer" instead of "football". I will not tell you because it's too long to explain, and Google exists. Do not change it again or you risk further action being taken. Nearly but not perfect (talk) 12:38, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is for factual descriptions, not colloquialisms. The Wikipedia page for this sport correctly refers to it as "football" - after all, the sport is played with the feet, not the hands. Given the tone of your message, perhaps you should restrict yourself to moderating this page instead - https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/patronising 83.244.183.98 (talk) 08:22, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No. If it's about an American team, Wikipedia can call it "soccer" if it wants to. Stop or you will get reported and blocked. See this page. Nearly but not perfect (talk) 23:48, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
