Information icon Hello, I'm Bruce1ee. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Classification of obesity have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 15:00, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. PhilKnight (talk) 15:02, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that it looks as though I was editing this section to advertise my company. I do work for the company who invented the Body volume index, I was not editing with the intention to advertise. I was trying to correct an incorrect figure within the section. It currently states that a healthy BVI number is under 13, this is factually incorrect, as anything over 8 is unhealthy, and could result in people misunderstanding their health and not seeking medical help. I tried to update the figures to prevent misinformation. I provided the source materials for the change to highlight where they came from. If you'd prefer I can provide sources from validation papers instead BodyVolume (talk) 09:02, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have not proposed a new username as instructed. You'll need to read WP:COI and WP:PAID and tell us what will change about how you contribute in the area of your conflict of interest(this should include not linking to or editing about your company directly). The current information is properly sourced, so you will need to explain(when you edit) why those sources are in error and provide your own proper sources(see WP:MEDRS). 331dot (talk) 09:46, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
