Mike's Review
[edit]1. I liked the picture of the dog. It's probably irrelevant to the topic, but it's a nice looking dog, anyway.
2. Main Effects
Paragraph 1: I suggest this change "...dependent variable averaging across..." to "...dependent variable averaged across..."
You might want to mention that main effects are sometimes called marginal effects.
Paragraph 2: You might want to use a more specific hypothesis than "H0: the null hypothesis."
You might also want to mention Type I, Type II, and Type III errors to explain why it might, or might not, be appropriate to test the main effect of a variable included in a higher order interaction.
Paragraph 3: I had some difficulty understanding this particular paragraph. I think that it is describing the limited case of main effects in a Balanced Experimental Design.
3. Definition
To avoid confusion on the part of readers who aren't experts in statistics, I think that the term "contrast" should either be explained, or referenced.
Is this statement true? "Main effects are the primary independent variables or factors that are of most importance in the experiment."
4. Estimating Main Effects
I think that this section needs some work. It needs more background and definitions so that readers will know what the formulae mean. Perhaps you could combine this with the Example.
5. Example...This needs some work. Perhaps a table like that in "Another Example"
6. Another Example: This was helpful.

Kylie's review
[edit]I thought It was pretty good and informative. For improvements, I would say it seems like there was three people writing it, so maybe edit it to were is has the overall same writing style. It seems like there is two spots for the definition, might not really need the section for definition, and could just define it well in the first section. The examples are good. Maybe could use some graphics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reic2482 (talk • contribs) 16:31, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Thank you Kylie and Mike for the peer reviews, changes are being made to take your ideas into account. We added marginal effect, changed to averaged across, we added hyperlink to contrasts (statistics) page, worked on changing some grammar to make the page have a more consistent writing style. --DecisionTheory (talk) 22:51, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
