Question from Patrick Welsh (test account) (16:41, 17 May 2025)
[edit]Hey there,
Thanks for volunteering your time to mentor new editors! As you can see from my username, this is a test account created to help me better understand the scripts that I have installed without causing disruption.
But what is the preferred way to note oddities or suggest improvements to features geared towards new users?
Cheers, --Patrick Welsh (test account) (talk) 16:41, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Patrick Welsh (test account) Thanks for your post, though I am not sure I understand what you are asking. Do you want to know the best way new editors can reach out for help or ways mentors can reach out about the system functioning, or something else? FULBERT (talk) 17:18, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was not clear. The answer is "something else". The way that experienced editors such as yourself make themselves directly available as real individuals is fantastic. No notes.
- The "Wikipedia Adventure", however, has room for improvement. I made suggestions here[1] and (although maybe too article-specific to be useful) here[2].
- My question is whether this is a good way to proceed, or if any further comments should be posted to the talk page at WT:GTF (or somewhere else entirely).
- Cheers, Patrick 🐈⬛ (talk) 17:59, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Patrick Welsh Thank you and glad this is receiving attention. I remember when I did the Wikipedia Adventure years ago, I was really not sure what it was or if I did it correctly because I missed the intro to what it is and what it was intended to help me do. Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
