User talk:Frag~enwiki
Dear Francesco,
Welcome! Thank you very much for your contributions on various kind of bifurcations. It is one of the areas where Wikipedia really needs some more articles, so your efforts are much appreciated.
You might have noticed that I tried to clean up your article on the transcritical bifurcation. You did fine, but there are some conventions here: HTML tags are rarely used, and articles are not signed (the idea is that the articles belong to everyone; the information on who wrote them is available in the history).
In case you haven't found them already, here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics has some material specific for mathematics. It seems from your user page that you might also be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Computing.
Please do not hesitate to ask my any questions on User talk:Jitse Niesen. Wikipedia often seems a bewildering place with many hidden and unwritten rules and customs, and the easiest way to discover them is to ask somebody experienced. And, most importantly, enjoy yourself here!
Ciao, Jitse Niesen (talk) 18:07, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
I got the message you wrote at User talk:Jitse Niesen last night. Yes, you put it in the right place. While we do not sign articles, we do sign comments at talk pages. You can do this by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~ , see Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages for details. And don't worry about your English; it is clearly good enough that we understand what you want to say, and for many of us here (including myself) English is not our first language. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 22:48, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
File:Before.png missing description details
[edit]If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:19, 30 December 2011 (UTC)File permission problem with File:Before.png
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Before.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en
wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:42, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Frag. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Frag~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
