[edit] Hello, I'm Knitsey. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kudarikoti Annadanayya Swamy, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Also, some promotional language used Knitsey (talk) 15:16, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Knitsey, I am the grandson of Kudarikoti Annadanayya Swami and the content I added has no source per se as in this case i would be the first hand source MONESTARY9 (talk) 14:01, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Kudarikoti Annadanayya Swamy, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources to see how to add references to an article. Thank you. MarcGarver (talk) 13:59, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi MarcGarver, I am the grandson of Kudarikoti Annadanayya Swami and the content I added has no source per se as in this case i would be the first hand source. Is there any way for me to add this information to wikipedia without a citation as I have nothing to cite except myself. Any guidance is appreciated MONESTARY9 (talk) 14:03, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @MONESTARY9, per Wikipedia:Verifiability we do need references for some of the changes. Oral history can be a problem when sourcing. We do still need to be able to verify what you say. Knitsey (talk) 14:07, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Knitsey, I would love to record this piece of history though I understand the problem with oral history. Can you think of anything I can do as maintaining this information is really important to me. MONESTARY9 (talk) 10:59, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @MONESTARY9, I just don't think it will be possible. It has happened before where information can't be added as there is no way of verifying it. The only way to maintain the integrity of Wikipedia is insist on verification.
- If you do come across an old news article, or even an interview he gave, then come back and see what we can do. Primary sources, interviews etc, are not great but can sometimes be included for uncontroversial information. Lots of luck. Knitsey (talk) 12:05, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
