I am now proud owner of a TUSC account!

Shay Segev

[edit]

Hi Muhandes, how are you? I am working on updating the article on Shay Segev to include his early life and career. I noticed you had edited the article about Tel Aviv University as well as the article about Mercury Interactive, both of which I want to update on Segev's page, and I hoped you would be interested in helping. I have a COI, so I understand I need community input. You can see the edit request I posted with suggested language and sources here.

Thanks, KopekDesBordes (talk) 16:45, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@KopekDesBordes Any edits I made to Tel Aviv University or Mercury Interactive either fall under very minor changes or date back to my early days on Wikipedia—well before I was aware of the COI guidelines. I do have a COI with both, as an alumnus of the former and a former employee of the latter (I left MI in 2002). That said, I have no COI with Shay Segev—I’ve never met him, and he joined MI in 2004, after I left. I’ll review your edit request when I get the chance, likely tomorrow. @KopekDesBordes: My ping on Talk:Shay Segev failed so I'm notifying you here as well that I reviewed and partially accepted your request. I think the entire Career section requires revisiting but I don't have the time or interest to do that, so I took the lazy road and tagged it for promotional language. If another editor disagrees, they are free to remove the tag. Muhandes (talk) 11:53, 24 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New certification program

[edit]

Hey Muhandes, did you hear Luminate and A2IM announced they're partnering together for a new certification program for independent artists? [1] Do you think this is something we would be including on here? Pillowdelight (talk) 00:58, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Pillowdelight If they maintain a database, I see no reason why not. Muhandes (talk) 09:26, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They do on their website, but their threshold is different. They don't go by the terms "Gold, platinum, diamond" etc, they go by "Star".
1 Star = 50,000 album sales
2 Star = 100,000 album sales
3 Star = 300,000 album sales
I believe that's how far it goes up to. They have certified 36 albums so far. [2] I did leave a message on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums If you’d be open to leaving a comment there as well that would be greatly appreciated. Pillowdelight (talk) 09:33, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I created A2IM Star Certification (redirecting to American Association of Independent Music#A2IM Star Certification) and I commented at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums#New US Certification Program Muhandes (talk) 10:07, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. Hopefully it'll gain some traction and become notable. Pillowdelight (talk) 23:12, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
