Hi Ronnie! Great submission. In the first paragraph, I love how you made a connection between hip hop feminism and intersectionality. Being that I have never heard of hip hop feminism, I appreciate your detailed explanation of the concept and its origin. There is consistency between the paragraphs, specifically the lead section and definition, that caused a clean transition between the paragraphs. In addition, you did a fine job of citing your sources with accuracy.
Regardless of my criticism, I only intend to provide suggestions. Much like you, I am also learning and working as well. I encourage you to continue writing and exploring this topic! It is obvious that you are able to contribute a lot to this article in such an early stage in the review process. I believe the draft can be improved by comparing the difference between hip hop feminism and other subsets of feminism. I believe that in this works it would be important to note the goals or accomplishments of hip-hop feminism. Who was hip hop feminism for? In the lead section, you discussed originally that this term was for women who grew up post-Civil Rights Movements and Feminist Movement of the 1960s and 1970s, but could this term be used by other women who did not grow up according to these circumstances? In order to classify as a hip-hop feminist are you required to grow up in the post-civil rights movement? What is the goal of hip hop feminism? Is it inclusion or a form of liberation? Who has this concept helped thus far? How does this notion apply in more modern times? Do you think women in the hip hop industry are away of hip-hop feminism or do they unknowingly participate> How does hip-hop feminism fit into the social media realm, which has forced its way into hip hop culture? I think as you begin to explore and go more in dept with the article you will engage with scholarship that will allow you to go more in-depth. I believe you are off to an amazing start!
