Using Wikipedia to advertise, publicise, or promote anything is not permitted. Many people come to edit Wikipedia not knowing that, and post promotional material honestly not realising that it is unacceptable. When I notice a new editor who has done that, I give them what I hope is a reasonably friendly warning not to do so again. However, I find it difficult to imagine that anyone can honestly believe that hijacking an article and replacing some or all of its content with promotional material on a different subject is acceptable; that looks like deliberate spamming. If, however, you really did think doing that would be acceptable, be warned now that it isn't, and that if you do likewise again you are likely to be blocked from editing without further warning.
