Tyrone Power

[edit]

Hey Srsmartin, I was wondering if you had a citation for your recent edit to Tyrone Power..."William Martin, Tyrone's cousin and close boyhood friend, who also lived with Tyrone in Hollywood from 1936 to 1939, always maintained that such rumours were completely preposterous." Can you cite where William Martin makes that claim? Once you've got that, I can help you put it into the proper citation format directly on the page, to lead to a footnote.

SRSmartin, thank you for your contribution. However, as I learned the hard way, Wikipedia will not allow "original research," i.e., something that is not published somewhere. I have attempted to explain that sometimes books are incorrect, and that often inaccurate or false stories are carried from book to book, but my cries have gone unheeded. So you will need to have a source - an interview transcript, a magazine article, a book reference. I am assuming you are a member of the Martin family, and it must be bothersome to see inaccuracies and false statements on the page of a wonderful and revered relative. Jere and several others have worked very hard (check out the Tyrone Power discussion page), but we are somewhat stymied because once it's in a book, true or false - it can go into the article.Chandler75 03:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jere- just saw your post! Bill MArtin was my dad and I head him comment often about this. Steve Martin
