Welcome to Wiki!

[edit]

Hello Stephanp6, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

One of the more important ways you can help Wikipedia is by cleaning up articles in the cleanup backlog.

If you need any help, see the help pages and glossary, add a question to the help desk, or ask me on my talk page. You may also find me on my personal blog or xMule's website.

I hope you will enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian. Good luck! — HopeSeekr of xMule

Cite sources

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Lindsay Lohan, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --Yamla 16:38, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Individual songs forward to the album page; please do not link. RadioKirk talk to me 18:23, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted all your edits this date. Some are unsourced, some are unnecessary, some are misspelled ("theme song" is two words), some are unencyclopedic. I am one of several people trying to keep this article factual, relevant, and brief. Questions? Write me :) RadioKirk talk to me 02:30, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Second notice: Individual songs forward to the album page; please do not link. RadioKirk talk to me 03:04, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've reverted your edit—a blank space can mean either not found or nonexistent. RadioKirk talk to me 01:39, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings), words in section headings that are not proper nouns should not be capitalised. Also, as requested above and every time you edit a page, please cite your sources so that your work can be verified by others. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 19:42, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not boldface and/or italicise number-one positions, as it is a violation of Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 18:04, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Undoing merges and redirects

[edit]

I see that you've undone the redirects on the Lindsay Lohan single articles again, without explanation or discussion. This can be considered bad behaviour. To quote user:FuriousFreddy: if a song article is nothing but a recounting of how the song was made, and how well it did, without explaining that it was, in some way, important and influential to the music industry, there's really no reason for it. Just write good album articles, and selected articles on the important singles and album tracks, and let's keep the encyclopedia balanced. Encyclopedias aren't supposed to be "complete"; they are supposed to provide overviews and guide users to further information on a subject if they want to go beyond the standard level. Something like a Lindsay Lohan fan wiki would be a fine place to have an article on every Lohan song, but a general-purpose encyclopedia is not. See Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Pop music issues and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music/Notability and Music Guidelines/Songs. Why write dozens of short articles on singles, with no chances of actual expansion short of padding and marketing-report material (chart positions), when they can be combined into one album article? I have nominated I Live for the Day, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/I Live for the Day (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. SummerPhD (talk) 02:11, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of I Live for the Day

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is I Live for the Day. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/I Live for the Day. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
