Wham! was an English new romantic/soft rock band, whose sound combines new vave and soul or funk, but also in some early songs adds rap and in "The Edge of Heaven" adds a touch of hard rock.[1] It was created in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley.[1] They released their first single in 1982.[2] For a short time, they were known in the United States as Wham! UK because another band already had that name.[3] They are best known for the songs "Last Christmas" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go".
