Wham! was an English new romantic/soft rock band, whose sound combines new vave and soul or funk, but also in some early songs adds rap and in "The Edge of Heaven" adds a touch of hard rock. It was created in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. They released their first single in 1982. For a short time, they were known in the United States as Wham! UK because another band already had that name. They are best known for the songs "Last Christmas" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go".
