  • Thanks for bringing this up for evaluation! This is almost certainly backwards copying. We can see the introduction of some of the key text here: [2]. Note that the sentence immediately prior to it is also present in the external site. We can see that it evolved earlier. Note here where the previously existing content "By this definition of a university, the first university in medieval Europe, and thus the world, was the University of Bologna (established in 1088)" was altered to read "The first university in medieval Europe, and the world, was the University of Bologna (established in 1088)." The sentence had existed earlier, prior to this edit, as "The first degree-granting university in medieval Europe was the University of Bologna (established in 1088)." --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:46, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
