:It is order to keep the main page "in balance", i.e. the last item on "Did you know" and the last item on "On this day" appear almost across from each other, and therefore there is no excessive vertical empty spacing on either of those two columns. ''...that Rush Limbaugh was appointed an ambassador to India?''- Seems very USA-centric. As well as oddly phrased. Ok, he was appointed it, why not just say that he ''was'' it? Why not have ''...that Rush Limbaugh was an American ambassador to India?''- that looks much better to me. [[User:J Milburn|J Milburn]] 14:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Error reports
Please only post error reports regarding what is currently on the main page or on Main Page/Tomorrow here.
For general main page discussions, go to Talk:Main Page.

Note that the current date and time are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which may not coincide with your local time zone. The next day's featured article of the day, picture of the day, and anniversaries update at midnight (00:00) according to UTC. The current time is 03:22 on June 12, 2025 (UTC).

Once an error has been fixed, the error report will be removed from this page; please check the page's history to verify that the error has been rectified and for any other comments the administrator may have made. Lengthy discussions should not take place here.

Errors in Today's featured article

Pls add an 'a' to 'with bird or a monkey', and link to Front (military) and United States presidential election, 1920 in tomorrow's FA. BTW, poison gas in World War I, such as sulfur mustard, wasn't that "primitive". I suggest removing this "P" word. Thanks. --199.71.174.100 22:33, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Linking to the 1920 presidential election might spoil the, erm, surprise ;) Raul315 22:38, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can the words "Prepared Coffee" be cropped off the image? This spoils the fun, too. :-) --Ral654 22:45, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the word primitive. I'm hesitant to crop the picture any further - any more cropping and there won't be much left. Raul315 22:55, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that someone saved over my original version of the cropped image, which did not include the "Prepared Coffee", but it also omitted the guy's full arm. I am not sure if anyone wants it reverted. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 00:18, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So Reading the FA today, I'd just like to point out that I can't make heads or tails of the thing. What front were the troops on? What campaign are you talking about? All I know from reading that is that this man made instant coffee, and the troops loved him because it made them high. 66.81.180.229 03:00, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could we please use the real version? Prodego talk 03:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On initial reading of the Today's featured article text on the Main Page, it almost seems deliberately written to generate ambiguity as to whether the subject is George Washington, 1st president of the United States, or another George Washington. (Soldiers fighting at the front, references to a campaign (military campaign?) and "crossing" to a more profitable position, bid for the Presidency...) The article itself does not read that way at all. Thought... is this an April Fool's joke? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LiniShu (talkcontribs) 11:23, 1 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Why are there only three items on todays bulletin.--82.36.182.217 12:31, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in Selected anniversaries/On this day

Is it really necessary to have a picture of Nixon for the On This Day? He just signed the law, a picture of the warning label or the surgeon general of the time would seem more appropriate. Mr.Z-mantalk¢Review! 04:46, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How about replacing Nixon with the National Flag of San Serriffe ? ;-) --74.13.127.132 08:18, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was hoping to put this image of Nixon on there just for today, but it is marked as fair use and thus ineligible... Zzyzx11 (Talk) 12:37, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Errors in Did you know?

I have got into a habit of noticing problems shortly before midnight, but I would like to bring this up anyway, as I love this picture so much. Basically, the description looks pathetically short. I would reccomend expanding it to include the information about the colour coding of the picture. Anyone agree? J Milburn 21:31, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd like to type something to fill all that blank space, sure, go for it. Whether someone will notice in time to add it is, unfortunately, another question. This page should be required watchlisting. Picaroon 21:51, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If yr going to make dick jokes, at least give it a link to Rooster. Cigarette 05:19, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with Main Page

Folks, there is a problem with the Main Page - someone has snuck a parody write up of George Washington in place of the real article. Please fix ASAP, Madman 00:30, 1 April 2007 (UTC) P.S. If this is an April Fool's joke, then it should be made explicit somewhere or another.[reply]

April Fools! There's no problem! There's just another person named George Washington! Jaredtalk00:35, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
