Al Tappeh (Persian: التپه; also known as ‘Alī Tappeh and Tappeh)[1] is a village in Kuhestan Rural District, in the Central District of Behshahr County, Mazandaran Province, Iran. At the 2016 census, its population was 1,930, in 605 families,[2] up from 1,903 people in 2006.[3]
Geography
[edit]The village is on the northern slopes of the Alborz mountain range, at the foothills of Jahan moora. It has a vast landscape to the north overlooking the lush and fertile plain of Mazandaran and beyond, the Gulf of Gorgan, the Miankaleh peninsula, and the Caspian Sea.
Al Tappeh is located 1 km east of Behshahr, on the south-side of road 22 which connects Behshahr to Gorgan.[4]
Demographics
[edit]In 1976 census, Al Tappeh had power and water infrastructure, as well as elementary school.[5] In 1986, the village also had phone and post services.[6]
