DYRP (1017 kHz Iloilo City) is an AM station owned and operated by Hiligaynon Broadcast Group in the Philippines.DYRP-AM studio is located at HBG Broadcas Center, Gen. Luna Street, Iloilo City.
History
[edit]- First broadcast as DYRP in 1980.
- It changed to Radyo Tagring after few years when DYFM Bombo Radyo make it to number one spot in the radio survey in Iloilo. Along the success of DYRP-AM, DYXI-FM 93.5 was born. DYXI-FM design for the upscale radio listeners with jazz and disco music format as The Jazz Authority.
- In 1990, DYRP when off air due to financial problems.
- In 1994, its sister station, DYRO 945 kHz (Roxas City), had also gone off the air due to their transmitter damaged by a typhoon.
- In 2007, it revived its broadcast before 2007 elections and move to Guimbal, Iloilo.
- In 2008, DYRO merged its operations with DYRP.
- In 2011, Allied Broadcasting Center was purchased by Hiligaynon Broadcast Group.
