New Right and Lasch

This article mostly skips over the central thesis. Lasch's idea have been embraced by the New Right in almost every way, but at odds with his original intent and perhaps even the meaning of what he originally wrote. He seems to have completely missed the boat on financialization and inequality (or ignored it?) as it was a hot topic in the late 1970s, while talking around the periphery of the idea yet failing to place the blame on the right people and groups.
