Comprehensive rewrite of the article body

I think the whole article is unsatisfactory for the following reasons:

The technical description is poor and much of it is impenetrable. The language is also cumbersome and not engaging.
Much of it is simply out of date.
The section titled “Criticism”, and its highlighting of controversial design choices, is not common to similar articles. Common practice is a “reception” section summarising reviews of the technology.
Many of the references are outdated or of tenuous relevance.

With this in mind I feel it better to start over and have prepared a comprehensive re-write of the article body that I will put up shortly. I welcome discussion and will probably want help choosing proper citations. In view of the extensive documentation within the Genode project I will cite that when appropriate. Correct position of Sculpt section

I am not sure where best to put it. Initially I included it as subheading in the "Releases" section. But recently I added a "notable implementations" section and nested Sculpt in there. I am a little dissatisfied with this arrangement and am minded to return it to "releases" in due course, or to make it its own section.

Sculpt is Genode's flagship "distro" and elevating it from the "releases" section was supposed to clarify this. Squizzler (talk) 13:23, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
