Weight of different poodle sizes in last paragraph under Description::Apperance do no align with those stated in the infobox. Change them to align with those in the infobox. 220.255.226.236 (talk) 16:07, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 19:54, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He's mentioning how the weight values in the infobox aren't the same as the text. I can change the infobox to align with the text but I believe the values in the article are incorrect. toy Poodles encapsulate the smallest size and I've certainly seen some that go below 1 st. Multi Color Poodles are recognized by the UKC, but not the AKC.

[edit]

"...coat that comes in many colors and patterns, with only solid colors recognized by breed registries" This is wrong. The AKC, the main kennel club in America, only recognizes solid colors; but the UKC, the second main one, does recognize multi color poodles. I would change "breed registries" to "the American Kennel Club" or something like that. I would do it but that article is protected and I just made an acct Treebam3 (talk) 04:36, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the wording to 'major' simply because there is nothing stopping someone from starting their own kennel club and recognising multi-coloured Poodles and we can't say with certainty that some less-important kennel clubs don't recognise multi-coloured Poodles. Traumnovelle (talk) 05:48, 3 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how much you're in the dog world, but at least in the USA it's always the AKC vs the UKC. The AKC is definitely bigger and more prestigious, but the UKC is without a doubt a close second in the USA. It's not some random no name kennel club. The UKC hosts 16,000 events per year and the AKC hosts 22,000 events. Treebam3 (talk) 00:57, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Dorling Kindersley 2023 encyclopaedia lists 'any solid colour' for colours of the Poodle. Desmond Morris, although an older version states: 'From its earliest days, the Poodle has usually appeared in solid colours. It was said that German Poodles were brown, Russian Poodles were black and French Poodles were white. Today, in the show-ring, these three basic colours have been modified, using dilution genes, to produce a variety of appealing pastel shades.' Traumnovelle (talk) 04:28, 5 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
