Small Grammatical Error

[edit]

In the second paragraph of the "Early Life" section there is the sentence "He also participated in underground cinema, helping create the low-budget film Star Bootyand an album by the same name.", with no space between "Booty" and "and". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dayman773 (talkcontribs) 02:13, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Expanding Cultural Impact Section

[edit]

Hello! As a queer activist and drag fan I would like to suggest an update that i think would make a great edit to the article, specifically in the “Cultural Impact” and “Early Life” sections. I suggest these two reliable sources that I believe add valuable information about RuPaul Andre Charles's influence, that will benefit the article in my opinion.

1. Early Life Update:

  • Entertainment Weekly noted that RuPaul’s upcoming memoir, The House of Hidden Meanings, will detail his early life before fame.
  • Source: Entertainment Weekly article

2. Cultural Impact Update:

  • The book The Cultural Impact of RuPaul’s Drag Race discusses how the show transformed drag from an underground "cub kids" culture to a true mainstream profession.
  • Source: Intellect Books

That transparently looks like a suggestion to advertise his books. 81.147.91.124 (talk) 21:24, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Roux

[edit]

"from roux, the French term for the base of gumbo and other creole stews and soups".

This sounds at if gumbo and Creole stew are the main purpose for a roux. A roux is the base for a number of classic French sauces. That it was subsequently used in two US dishes is incidental and misleading when used to describe what a roux is. 81.147.91.124 (talk) 21:30, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
