Is it true...

It is true that this was the only establishment of its kind and the fact that it invented (or certainly helped develop) such things as anti-lock brakes, computerised signals, roundabouts and even sat-nav, shows that it deserves a place in history —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwgardner (talk • contribs)

TRL

Should we not move this article to TRL which is the name it has used since it stopped being a government body? PeterEastern (talk) 09:20, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was preparing to do the move and then noticed that TRL is of course already in use so one would have to decide how to differentiate it. I now note from their about page that Transport Research Laboratory is also a trading name for the organisation: 'TRL and Transport Research Laboratory are trading names of TRL Limited,' so possibly we stick with the current title. This article was moved from Transport Research Laboratory to TRL Limited on 9 July 2012. However, many reliable sources are still using 'Transport Research Laboratory'.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] Therefore, per WP:COMMONNAME, I'm moving it back. Its entry at TRL (disambiguation) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) also still reflects this common name. -- Trevj (talk) 10:19, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring?

A few months ago this company announced it was 're-inventing itself with the support of Blandford Capital.' Blandford is a private equity firm. There was a sale of the Company's shares completed to Thirlmere Bidco Limited on 17 April 2025 and on the 25 April 2025 entered a Notice of termination or full implementation of voluntary arrangement. Their TRF 1996 pension scheme also fell into the Pension Protection Fund. I think these changes need to be clarified, and the main page needs an update Andromedean (talk)
