Error in wrong namespaces
[edit]The template is supposed to add Category:Misplaced userspace drafts in most namespaces, e.g. at Draft:Track (moving medium), but it appears it never does after this edit by Headbomb. Since then the switch on the namespace has ended earlier, the #default with the category has belonged to something else, and the template adds a userspace draft category without displaying anything. - I think that I fixed this problem. Ruslik_Zero 18:11, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: If |page=
is filled out with future article title, {{find sources}} as used within this template when |help=
is set to 'yes' should use page parameter's value. Not all drafts are placed in conveniently named subpages, and this {{Userspace draft}} template is as likely to appear in /sandbox user subpages.

Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES. I think this will work, but if you are up for modifying the /sandbox page to show on the testcases page how it would work, please do so. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:39, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95: thank you for informing me to test these changes in the sandbox and testcases. I did so in Special:Diff/1167339408 and Special:Diff/1167340050 where I also pinged you. –Vipz (talk) 05:05, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
Done after correcting the new testcase and adding another one. The new and old testcases appeared to be working properly. Another template editor is welcome to revert or discuss this change if it broke anything. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:54, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Jonesey95, it appears to me you did not implement the proposed change to the main template. Cheers for correcting it and thank you for assistance. –Vipz (talk) 02:32, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
Done For real. * Pppery * it has begun... 13:43, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
- Vipz, sorry about that; I've been gone for a week, so I can't reconstruct or remember exactly what happened here. I blew it, obviously. Thanks for the friendly ping, and thanks to Pppery for covering for me. – Jonesey95 (talk) 12:11, 7 August 2023 (UTC)

Meaning of date parameter
[edit]Does |date=
mean the date on which the draft was created, last edited, or tagged? Paradoctor (talk) 04:08, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Creation, I believe, or if it was moved to the draft space, the date that occurred. Primefac (talk) 16:45, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, then I did ok so far. I also had the case in userspace where a page is used for multiple differents drafts, serially or concurrently. I'll use the incept date of the current draft, or the incept date of oldest of the currents drafts, then. Thanks! Paradoctor (talk) 02:23, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Replace:
{{Clickable button | ... | style=style=line-height: 1.6em; padding: 0.1em 1.6em 0.1em 1.6em}}
with:
{{Clickable button | ... | style=line-height: 1.6em; padding: 0.1em 1.6em 0.1em 1.6em}}
since style=style= is a duplicate :p BlankEclair (talk) 14:29, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
Completed. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 19:18, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Paine Ellsworth, from my read of Module:Clickable_button#L-167 the
|style=
parameter is not passed to the module asstyle={{{style}}}
but rather as just{{{style}}}
; in other words, the duplicate "style=" is not a duplicate, it is passing the "style=X" into the|style=
parameter. Primefac (talk) 15:09, 25 May 2025 (UTC)- To editor Primefac: that's curious, it seems like a non-standard work around. I'm still researching and so far have found the {{Wiktionary redirect}} template, which uses CB with a style parameter that is not redundant. Is that correct? or should it also use the
style=style=...
code? P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 19:37, 25 May 2025 (UTC) - I've also found extensive usage of the {{Photo requested}} template, which does not use the
|style=
parameter, but it does use the|class=
parameter. That makes me wonder if that is correct as well, or should it use a redundantclass=class=
format like the style parameter? - There is also the automatic usage of the CB (I think, but it might be from Mediawiki) on empty talk pages to "start a discussion". Haven't found that yet, but it appears that it's usage is deprecated. Still looking... P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 20:10, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Doing
{{Clickable button | UwU | style=style=display: none}}
results in a duplicate style=, as seen here: - Additionally, mw.html:cssText is documented to set the
style
attribute, which is corroborated in this demo and the source code. BlankEclair (talk) 22:58, 25 May 2025 (UTC)- I suppose I have read it wrong. Thanks for the clarifications. Primefac (talk) 23:15, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
