NESN add on Rough Draft
[edit]Under the Section "Related Services"
NESN.COM
NESN.com differs from other services provided by nesn because it is primarily articles, rather than video content. It is a compilation of articles or short videos about the "Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, Soccer, UFC, WWE, Cars, Odds, [and] Fantasy."[1] These NESN articles are often posted through a Facebook profile that sends out many articles daily. NESN's digital content produced by the site is in affiliation with Fox Sports as of 2010.[2]
The site's set up is in a focused manner that divides it into seperate sections where different sports writers cover each scene. In this way, NESN reporters produce original content that develops in their field areas. Some reporters are full time exclusively to NESN.com while other stories are contributed by NESN reporters from other fields of NESN, such as broadcasting.
The content and construction of the articles themselves vary drastically. Some provide in-depth analysis of current events happening with Boston teams, while others provide quick updates with videos. A majority of the articles, however, are are purely factual and present interviews with players and coaches. Some articles also focus on new trade rumors or free agent pick ups. The primary subscriber and reader of NESN.com is male.[3] NESN.com is the most recently added product that contributed to NESN being "the eighth-most valuable sports brand in the world in 2013"[4]
Article Evaluation
[edit]The Wikipedia article on Venmo is surprisingly small and limited. There are only four sections of writing. As we have discussed in class, Venmo is a huge form of banking media that is changing financial interactions between people and that is not mentioned in the article. It states that there are social aspects of venmo, but refuses to discuss innovative features such as requesting or blocking money from other people.[5] At this point in its life, the article does come off as biased. This is because it has three sections of writing (history, social component, and service) that are more flushed out and discuss the benefits of venmo. However, only one section, that is two sentences long, questions the security of venmo as a banking service. I would like to see this section, in particular, filled out with more research to make the article more impartial. The organization of the citations is clear and easy to follow. The sources used are reliable as well. How many users are on Venmo today? __Cmac0520 (talk) 17:27, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Article I will work on
[edit]The second article I want to work on is NESN[6]. I think the NESN article could be improved by adding what the show does during the day when sports are not on. For example, it runs a 30 minute looped sports highlight reel called NESN daily. I know a good amount about boston sports and NESN itself so I think I can add more to the format section as well.
Something I can focus on improving in this article is the "other programming" section. Only some of the programs have descriptions of what they do and when they are shown. I can add to this section as well as improve on the "studio" section that is not entirely accurate. For example, it left out names such as Jared Saltilamachia from this section.
