Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia ClutchTimeMagic18!
Thank you for your contributions to the 2022 WNBA Season. When editing team pages, please remember to update the record in the infobox at the top of the page with each game. Additionally, per the Manual of Style you should use an endash instead of a - for scores and records.
There is a small wiki project where we keep track of things that need to be done during the wbna season that you can find here. Swimmer33 (talk) 15:08, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Swimmer33.
- Thank you for the correction. I'm not entirely sure how to type an en-dash. However, when I updated the relevant pages on the 6th, I used the first character button on the bar immediately above the "Edit Summary" prompt since it seemed the closest to an en-dash per the Wikipedia search I did. If any of my edits seem awry, I'll be more than willing to correct them. ClutchTimeMagic18 (talk) 12:27, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- The endashes from yesterday look good. That is how I make them, but there are some other ways that you can find here: Wikipedia:How to make dashes. In the game logs, if there are players tied, I'll usually list them in alphabetical order. I haven't seen a rule about this but I figured it is better practice. Thanks for all the help! Unreliable source
[edit]I've reverted your addition to January 18 since it was supported by a remarkably unreliable source, profightdb.com/
From their FAQ: "many of the results on this site come from our own unique research, some of the results were obtained through a combination of other sources. In some cases, results sent in by our users may have been partially sourced from other sites"
That's WP:UGC at best. Please be sure to use only WP:RELIABLE SOURCES. Thanks. Toddst1 (talk) 19:54, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Toddst1.
- Thank you for the correction. I wrongly presumed that since the Wikipedia page for the person had cited that source, it was acceptable to add on the larger page. Should I remove said citation on the athlete's page as well? ClutchTimeMagic18 (talk) 04:36, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2022 Seattle Storm season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tina Charles. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Jonquel Jones Abbreviation
[edit]I noticed that you abbreviated Jonquel jones as Jo. Jones in the latest WNBA scores, but she has been listed as J. Jones for the previous part of the season. Is there another J. Jones in the WNBA at the moment? Usually that's when I use a second letter (like with Cheyenne and Candace Parker). I've noticed you've done it on team pages too, but usually I only add the first initial if there are two players with the same last name on that page. So, for example, if its just the Sun's page, I'd still do A. Thomas and J. Thomas since they are on the same team. However, if its Allisha Grey on the Dallas only page, I'd just abbreviate as Grey since she is the only Grey on Dallas. Hopefully that makes sense! Swimmer33 (talk) 14:24, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Swimmer 33.
- The reason for abbreviating Jonquel Jones as Jo. Jones is b/c there's a player named Jazmine Jones on the Mystics that used to play for the Sun this season. Although she no longer plays for the Sun and was a sporadic player, I decided to abbreviate Jonquel Jones as Jo. Jones to avoid any possible confusion. Concerning the team pages, I only use a second letter for the sake of consistency. However, I see that it's futile to add a second letter/an abbreviation if the player is the only person with that name on the team. I'll pay attention to that in the future. Thank you for the tip.
